Easy Slow Cooker Recipes

Do any of my lovely readers have any go to slow cooker recipes?

The weather is getting cooler and I want to start using our slow cooker again. But I need some really simple recipes since it’s a bit difficult for me to find some fancier western items. I wanted to make beef stew but my delivery didn’t have any good choices of beef. Though, randomly… they gave me a whole chicken. I have no idea what I’m going to do with that chicken.

So if you have any easy, tasty recipes… please leave it in the comments. (or links would be great!) Thank you in advance!

And I also wanted to say a huge thank you for those that reached out to me from my last blog post. I was honestly, having such a terrible day. You know when one thing goes wrong, then another and then it just keeps getting worse? It was one of those days.

I am feeling much better and back at speaking Chinese (as much as I can) daily. :)

You can cook a whole chicken in the slow cooker!! http://www.laaloosh.com/2012/08/24/crock-pot-rotisserie-chicken-recipe/ I haven’t done it yet just because I haven’t bought a whole chicken at the store yet. lol. My pinterest board has some good slow cooker recipes: http://pinterest.com/airplaneninja/recipes-slow-cooker/ Good luck!

Ooooh! I’m going to have to try this! The only thing is that the chicken is literally a full chicken with the head and feet. LOL I don’t know why it scares me a bit.

Can’t wait to try this out! Thank you Josie!

Throw that whole chicken into the crockpot! That’s the easiest way to cook it whole, in my opinion. I was going to suggest beef stew (which I currently have cooking in my crock pot), but then saw the beef situation. :/ I don’t have any standby recipes, but I’m working my way through my pinterest crockpot board…maybe look there and see if you like anything?

Yay! That’s what everyone is suggesting so I must try it! :D Thanks Layla!

hi there! I’ve been a silent reader for a long time…you’ve hit one of my soft spots! i discovered crock pot cooking last winter – and can’t wait to take that baby out again this year! as the previous commenter said, throw that chicken in there whole! i made that a few times last year and it was delish! layer the bottom with carrots, potatoes and celery, stuff some in the cavity too. Then make a spice rub – really anything that sounds good or whatever you like would work! I used paparika, chili powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion flakes and some italian seasoning…rub it all over and cook it 9-10 hours on low. 6 hours on high would work too but i like it to be fall off the bone tender! and bonus – throw that carcass back in the pot and add some more water – another 6-8 hours and you’ll have an amazing stock! enjoy!

    Annie,

I usually make chicken broth with a whole chicken by adding scallion, garlic, onions, and Ginger ! Ginger is a must. Add some salt and or any seasoning you desire. Just let it cook …. Ummm maybe 5-6 hours later it will be at least a soup to go with noodles. Pour the soup over cooked noodles :)

I really like making luo song tang 罗宋汤 with a pressure cooker or slow cooker. First you sauté the potato and onion and tomato then add ketchup and then make sure that your ox tail or just regular beef chunks are ready to all pour into the slow cooker. Add salt and seasoning and water of course to your taste buds … This is the lazy simple way. Probably isn’t at that top chef level but definitely yummy. When I make it next time I’ll take pic to show u how simple it can be.
