Our Son’s First Heirloom
It’s no secret on my blog how it’s been very difficult for us to get pregnant. It was something so simple: uterine polyps.
It wasn’t until we moved to Shanghai, I received the kind of attention I needed to get pregnant. During our time trying to conceive, I joined a group for my fellow Weddingbee authors that was specifically for fertility issues.
These girls became my support, gave advice, encouragement and we vented. I am forever thankful for this group of ladies who have been a constant in our journey to become parents.
Two months after my surgery, I became pregnant. I couldn’t believe it! I immediately went onto our group to announce it and guess what? Amy has the same estimated due date!
Ever since that day, we have always kept in touch with each other via chat, Facebook, text and emails. Amy and I shared everything: symptoms, milestones, encouragements, and even non-pregnancy things.
I rely heavily on her because we are due date twins and she understands the struggle we faced having fertility issues. She has even been there for me when I needed advice (pregnancy/non pregnancy related) and has been a constant source of strength and love.
Amy sent us a baby gift in time for our baby shower and I have to say that I am speechless. It’s gorgeous and hand made by Amy!
Look at these beautiful booties and hat! I have already put this in my hospital bag and I know this will keep our son warm as soon as he is born.
She is an amazing knitter, this looks so professional and makes me so happy. The hubs and I were saying that Boram has a heriloom that he can pass down to his own kids!
Amy also sent us this adorably soft, elephant rattle. I’ve been playing with it myself,
maybe I should put it away? hehe
I want to give Amy a huge shout out, to thank her for always being here for me before, during and after pregnancy. I have to say that it’s been an absolute pleasure and honor to get to know her more through our pregnancy and I respect her so much. She has the kindest heart and has been a source of positivity.
Amy wrote a beautiful blog entry about our babies being international penpals.
Please go over and say hello to her and say I sent you.
I’m in the process of crocheting something for her baby.
I can’t wait to finish it and send it! It’ll be blobby’s (her baby) first international gift!
Thank you again Amy, for everything. <3
