Packing and a bit sick
It’s a bit surreal that the packers/movers are coming on Wednesday. What a whirlwind it is! We are currently separating things into sections: pack in luggage or ship it.
Sadly, all of this is a little difficult as Ollie is sick. He has acute laryngitis. I’m so thankful that it is mild, he does have trouble inhaling a bit but he’s ok. The pediatrician is amazing, if you need recommendations please see Dr. C Shen at World Path Clinic. She is absolutely amazing and we even text her whenever we feel Ollie’s sick. She always responds and helps us tremendously. I will miss her so much. (And any recommendations for an English speaking pediatrician in HK? One who promotes breastfeeding?)
I’ve been feeling so good these days. It’s a combination of Ollie sleeping 12-12 hours a night with one or two short wake ups to feed. And the fact that we are moving to HK. Even though I’m exhausted by the time he’s sleeping, I feel so happy.
Today Oliver is 4 months old. I can’t believe he is already 4 months. I have been a mother for this long… It is by far the most difficult thing I have ever done. It has also been the most rewarding and heartwarming feeling in the world. I find myself in constantly amazement that he is my son. We created him, this little boy is my son. My beautiful, energetic little baby!
At four months he has discovered his hands! He has always swatted at toys or has been sucking his fingers but it’s more like….
whoa. Hands. *turns hands over and over. Whoa. Hands!
It’s really fun to watch him discover things and see his progress. He’s a master at tummy time, he raises his head and laughs! He also smiles and laughs a lot more and I know it’s because he is delighted. Love it. Love him.
He also raises his bum at a diaper changes. It’s so adorable, it’s as if he’s helping us out.
Ollie is a son after my own heart. The boy loves music! I sing a lot of songs an play the ukulele as an accompaniment. He dances wildly, he sings along and shouts with glee. I even sing most of his books, esp the dr Seuss ones and he can’t get enough of it.
And I’m sure he’s about to wake up from his nap any second… Plus I should be packing. Haha. Sigh, a mothers job never ends!
Have I mentioned that I miss reading my blogs? I miss my reader! One day, I hope I can catch up on some blogs. But I have to say, I love being a mommy far more. <3
